52 Re-deux: Week 3

January 18, 2011

Hello lovelies!  It’s week 3 of our 52 Re-deux resolution and for our third project I made a dress for Hillary’s Baby Girl.  Hillary spotted the fabric in the bin of my Mom’s collection of material and thought it was pretty “groovy”. Since there was such a small amount of fabric left, the decision to make something for a little girl was easy.  Here’s the before & after shots:

The scrap fabric was about 12 inches wide.  Not wide enough for me to place the pattern piece along the fold like the directions said to do, so unfortunately there’s a seam right up the front of the dress.  But I’m thinking I might add a ruffle up the middle to cover it up and embellish the dress a bit.    I’m hoping I can find some teal, lime green/yellow or purple tights for Baby Girl to wear with the dress.  It’ll be awhile before she can wear it, it’s around a 12 month size, but I think it turned out pretty well.  What do you think?

Since it’s Re-deux day I thought I’d share these Cardboard Re-duxs from ReadyMade.

Sneaker sculptures made from the cardboard boxes.

Cardboard puzzle/sculpture.

Hope your week has started out in the right direction!  Happy Tuesday!
